Sarah started her accountancy career in 1998 as an AAT trainee with Novis & Co, an independent practice based in Morley. She then moved away from Leeds to Scott & Wilkinson in Lancaster where she trained and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2004. Realising she missed Leeds, she moved back in 2004 to join G L Barker & Co progressing from senior to client manager and ultimately became a partner in 2009.

With almost 25 years of practice experience behind her, Sarah deals with clients from many different sectors and through working closely with them, has developed strong relationships and is often a sounding board for client’s problems. Sarah is hands on with all aspects of accountancy and is both approachable and keen to get fully involved with clients to add as much value as possible.

Outside of work, Sarah is married to John and is mum to Indie. When not working she can be found walking miles with their cockapoo Shark, at the gym or at as many gigs as she can fit in (her musical taste inspired the name of their daughter and she’s proud to have passed that on). Sarah is also always happy to volunteer, she has been Chair of Governors at a local primary school for over 10 years and is also a Girl Guiding leader where she loves to work with girls to show them that they can do anything.
